Framestore, the visual effects, animation and digital production company, has appointed Jonathan Shipman as head of integrated production in its New York office. Shipman has more than 25 years of production experience in advertising, most recently as head of integrated production at McCann Erickson, where he spent the past 12 years, starting out as an executive producer. He created the agency's first-ever integrated department. Prior to McCann, he was a senior producer at Ogilvy & Mather. He began his career at DMB&B.





Black Dog Films has signed Casper Balslev and Julian Acosta to its roster as directors. Balslev (pictured, left) is a Danish director and photographer whose work includes fashion, portrait, and advertising photography as well as music videos for Marina and the Diamonds, The Presets, Fenech Soler, Oh My, and Ladyhawke. Acosta, from California, has directed music videos for Passion Pit, Nero, Ellie Goulding, Leonard Cohen, and M.I.A. His latest work includes 'Bait and Switch' for The Shins.





Filmmaster Mea Productions, a production company with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh and Doha, and part of Filmmaster Group (FMG), has hired Andrea Ciarla as executive producer. Ciarla was most recently CEO and executive producer of production house New Partners, and prior to that spent six years as a TV Producer at Saatchi& Saatchi. He is already working on two films for the new Pepsi Arabia 'Express Yourself' campaign; a Burger King TV campaign directed by Sebastian Funke & Jan Vogel and a newly-confirmed project for Johnson& Johnson.







Elias Arts has added Greg Griffith to its New York team as creative director and composer. Griffith is co-writing, recording and producing Lung of Love, the latest solo album from the Indigo Girls' Amy Ray. Griffith, who has engineered projects for Shelter Island, Baby Monster and Water Works, has been composing music for TV and film since 2005.
