jumP LA has hired Richard Cooperman to its editing team. Cooperman has edited recent work for L'Oreal, Lincoln and T-Mobile, in collaboration with Jonas Akerlund and Emnet Mulugeta, and has also cut spots for Hugo Boss, Jeep, Doritos, Calvin Klein, and Victoria's Secret. He has also worked on music videos, including Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Lauryn Hill and Tricky. Prior to joining jumP LA, Cooperman spent time at Brass Knuckles, Solid, Mission Editorial, Avenue and Jigsaw.
Saville Productions has signed Crash director Paul Haggis for exclusive commercial representation in the United States. Crash earned an Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, while Haggis also won an Academy Award for Million Dollar Baby, which he wrote and produced, in 2006.
LA-based editor Jonathan Del Gatto has signed with NYC creative editorial shop Hooligan for East Coast representation. Del Gatto, who will continue to be exclusively represented by Original for West Coast work, is currently wrapping up a campaign for Street King energy drink, featuring 50 Cent, Joan Rivers and Chris Kattan via ad agency Pure Growth. Other recent editing credits include a music video for 'Block After Block' by Matt and Kim, a series of web videos for Jamba Juice and The Neighbor Agency, Los Angeles. He worked at Red Car New York before relocating to LA in the nineties, and has worked on brands such as Budweiser, Sony, Nike, Chevy, Coca-Cola, Coors and Lexus, as well as in feature films, documentaries, music videos and shorts.
CP+B has hired Rich Tlapek as creative director, based out of the agency's Boulder office working on its Best Buy account. Tlapek is a former VP/group creative director at GSD&M Advertising in Austin, Texas where he spent 15 years overseeing creative on accounts including the U.S. Air Force, PGA Tour, Dial, CBS Sports and John Deere. Most recently, he freelanced for Saatchi/LA, Innocean and Sid Lee/Montreal. His work has been recognized by The One Show, New York Art Directors Club, Communication Arts and D&AD, while his work for the PGA Tour and CBS Sports won Cannes Lions.
Culver City, California-based agency Pitch has boosted its creative team with five new staff, all reporting to CCO Eric Springer. John Davis joins as creative director from David & Goliath Europe where he worked as executive creative director managing the Kia Motors Europe account. Marius Gedgaudas, who joins as design director, previously worked as V.P. associate design director at Deutsch LA. Also new are Sheldon Melvin, senior art director, previously art director at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco; Scott Hanson, senior copywriter, who was formerly a freelance dopywriter at Innocean in Huntington Beach; and Ritzelle Cayabyab, designer, who joins from Deutsch LA.
MPC has appointed Aline Sinquin as senior colourist. Formerly based in Paris, Sinquin has more than 10 years of industry experience, having worked with directors including Emir Kusturica, Frederic Planchon, Michel Gondry, Antoine Bardou-Jacquet, Jean-Pierre Philippot and Pleix to name a few. Her recent credits include projects for Nike, Nina Ricci, Orange, Peugeot and L'Oreal. Together with the rest of MPC's team she will be available for remote grading in London, Stockholm, Hamburg, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Austin, Dallas and Denver.
