Rob Baird has returned to Mother as global creative, splitting his time between the New York and London offices. Baird was one of Mother New York's original employees and had worked on Virgin Mobile, Milwaukee's Best Beer, Dell and Spike TV. Most recently, Baird was a CD at TBWA/Chiat/Day New York on the Skittles and Absolut brands. He also previously worked at Fallon on clients like Virgin Mobile, Starbucks and Sports Illustrated, and at Arnold, on the ALF Truth campaign.
Crispin Porter + Bogusky have signed vet creatives Liem Nguyen and Robert Kleman (pictured) to the agency's Miami office. Nguyen will be senior art director and moves from Lowe Bangkok, where he was an ACD on accounts like Signal, Rexona, Closeup, Citra and Wall. Before that he was an AD at Publicis on BMW, Coca-Cola and Jamba Juice, and also worked at DDB N.Y. on the N.Y. Lottery. Kleman joins as CD and moves from freelancing at BBDO, New York. He also previously worked at Euro RSCG World N.Y. as ECD on Dos Equis and Kraft, BBH, N.Y. as an ACD, and TBWA/Chiat/Day, N.Y. as ACD on Absolut.
Ogilvy & Mather Sydney has signed former Goodby, Silverstein & Partners CD Chris Ford as executive creative director, to be responsible for overseeing all creative output across the O&M Sydney Group. Ford spent 11 years at Goodby and has two decades of experience in the industry. His past clients include Comcast, Saturn, Absolut, Adobe, Budweiser, The Glenlivet, Quaker Oats and Tivo. Some of his most notable work includes the Comcast "Rabbit" spot and Saturn's "Numbers."
Jasper Mittelmeijfer and Joris Hofstede (pictured) have signed to the creative team of AKQA Amsterdam. Mittelmeijfer started his career in broadcast design at MTV and then moved to Strawberryfrog Amsterdam (now Amsterdam Worldwide.) There, his work include projects for Onitsuka Tiger, Panasonic, Asics, Hoegaarden and Opel. Hofstede moves from Qi-ideas, where he launched the design department with web design shop Strawberries. There, his client creds included Amstel, Heineken, Niveau and KPN. AKQA has also promoted Nick Bailey from CD to ECD. He will oversee the Amsterdam office's creative output.
Director Catherine Owens has signed to the roster of bicoastal Rabbit, marking her first commercial representation partnership. Owens is a longtime collaborator with U2. She co-directed U23D with Mark Pellington and has provided video and shot content for the band's last five world tours. Earlier this year Owens shot 3D footage for a 40-minute documentary on Khumb Mela in India and currently is developming a 3D narrative feature film based on an Oscar Wilde fairytale.
The Whitehouse has signed editor Stewart Reeves for Stateside representation. Reeves has cut spots for directors like Noam Murro, Tom Kuntz, Tim Godsall and Steve Rogers. He is based in Australia and continues to be repped out of The Editors, Sydney.
Directing duo ricki + annie, who were behind the IFC documentary "Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work," has signed to Kaboom Productions. The pair's past projects also include the Emmy-nominated "The Devil Came on Horseback" and "The Trials of Darryl Hunt. They've also worked on projects for HBO, National Geographic, IFC, A&E, Ch4, BBC and others.
Station Film has signed into a partnership with Academy Films, London. Station will rep Academy's directors (including Jonathan Glazer, Si & Ad, Seb Edwards, Frederic Planchon, Walter Stern, Nick Gordon, Tony Barry, Kim Gehrig and Conkerco) for spots and digital content, and Academy will represent Station's directors in London.
