Bicoastal production company Nonfiction Unlimited has added David Gelb to its roster. Gelb will focus on commercials, short films and branded content projects. The signing follows the success of Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Gelb's feature documenting a tiny subterranean sushi-only restaurant in a Tokyo subway station. It collected the AFI World Cinema Audience Award and Monterrey International Film Festival's Audience Award and was purchased by Magnolia Pictures at the Tribeca International Film Festival before making $2 million at the box office.

Pulse Films, the UK talent management and integrated content production company founded by Thomas Benski and Marisa Clifford in 2005, is expanding to the U.S. with offices in New York and Los Angeles. Managing director Cedric Gairard will overse the operations from the New York office. Gairard joins Pulse from Nexus Productions where he launched and managed the Interactive Arts division. He was previously head of production of 180 Amsterdam, working with clients such as adidas, Sony and MTV. Pulse is part of a joint-venture with Caviar Content, which will support Pulse by sharing its production skills and back-office system. Pulse Films' latest US client work includes working alongside TBWA/Chiat/Day NY for Absolut Vodka in a series of music videos shot by Dave Ma and with Droga 5 NY on a commercial for Puma shot by Thirtytwo.

Los Angeles-based LA.B Film & Content has signed director Adam Cameron for U.S. commercial representation. Cameron has previously worked as an independent director for production houses as Biscuit Filmworks, Limey, Company and most recently, Great Guns. He has directed spots for clients such as Subway, AXE, Toyota, Mobil, Dunkin' Donuts and Time Warner for agencies including McCann Erickson, EuroRSCG, Mullen, GlobalHue and Kaplan Thaler Group. His most recent work includes a campaign for Lebron James' Home Court furniture line out of Mullen, Boston. He has won awards at Cannes, the Clios, the Addys and the AICP Show, and has been nominated for DGA commercial director of the year twice.

Saatchi & Saatchi's worldwide digital creative director Tom Eslinger is relocating from London to New York and adds executive creative director of integrated production duties to his remit. Eslinger will also work closely with Saatchi & Saatchi NY chief creative officer Conway Williamson. Originally from North Dakota, Eslinger has been a creative director for Saatchi & Saatchi since joining in Wellington, New Zealand in 1998. In 2002, he was appointed to its worldwide creative board. Before joining the network, he was a lecturer and helped establish Wanganui School of Design in New Zealand.He has won multiple Cannes Lions across outdoor, cyber, media, direct and promo for web and mobile work, and in 2007 served as president of the Cyber Lions jury. He will serve as president of the first-ever Mobile Lions this June.

Deutsch New York has appointed Qian Qian as VP, creative director beginning on June 11 and working across all the agency's accounts, including PNC Bank, Microsoft and Unilever. Qian joins from CP+B Boulder, where he has worked since 2010 as interactive design director. He has also worked at agencies including AKQA, McCann Erickson, and OgilvyOne in Beijing, on clients including Coca-Cola, MasterCard, and Guinness. He has created illustrations for Wallpaper* Magazine, and was an assistant professor at Missouri State University from 2003-2007 teaching students Web design and new technologies. His work has been recognized with multiple industry awards including a Cannes Bronze Cyber Lion.

Sonny London has added Australian director Justin Kurzel to its roster for commercial representation. Kurzel was this year awarded the Australian Academy Award for Best Direction for his debut feature film Snowtown. Previously, his work for WWF Earth Hour won the Titanium Lion at the Cannes International Advertising Festival in 2007, while his TV spot for the British Council collected a Bronze. His Dare campaign picked up a Bronze at Cannes in 2009 and a campaign for Tooheys took out three Bronze awards at Cannes in 2010.He began his career as a theater production designer before directing his first short, Blue Tongue, which was accepted into the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.

Team One, the Saatchi & Saatchi-owned agency based in El Segundo, CA, has added three new hires to its creative department. Fabio Simoes Pinto (pictured) originally from Sao Paolo, Brazil, joins as a creative director working on Lexus. He was most recently with Saatchi & Saatchi in Los Angeles. where he focused on interactive digital marketing. Justin Mitchell, who joins as an integrated art director working on Lexus, is an entrepreneur (owner of art studio Chalk) and art director, designer and illustrator. His previous experience includes working with TBWA/Chiat/Day and Deutsch. Heather Parke has also joined as senior copywriter for general accounts, including Haagen-Dazs and The Ritz-Carlton. Parke has previously worked with Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, Deutsch and TBWA/Chiat/Day working with brands including Target, Old Navy and Expedia.
