Photographer Todd Selby, aka The Selby, has signed with Nonfiction Unlimited to direct commercials and documentary shorts. Selby, who has done editorial and ad photography, is best known for "The Selby is in your place" - a series of intimate photos of creative persons of note in their homes, collected on his blog, TheSelby.com. The series was recently made into a book of the same name.
Selby has directed documentary shorts including Rockaway Taco, featuring chef and beekeeper Andrew Field and Mitch Alfus, Leather King.







Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand has appointed Antonio Navas as executive creative director. Venezuelan-born Navas joins Saatchi & Saatchi from his ECD role at Ogilvy & Mather New York wherehe has worked for four years with clients including Coca Cola, Stolichnaya and Kodak. Prior to O&M, he worked at Goodby Silverstein and Partners, Amster Yard, FCB in San Francisco and BBDO New York. His work includes the video of the theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Waka Waka: This Time for Africa, performed by Shakira.





Saatchi & Saatchi New York has made two new creative hires. Brian Carley (left) joins as integrated executive creative director. Most recently he worked as a creative director at Rokkan, a digital agency where he created campaigns for clients such as Microsoft and Ford Focus. Prior to that he spent time as a creative director at JWT. His work has received awards and recognition including from the likes of The FWA, Cannes Cyber Lions, One Show Interactive, Pixel Awards, Webby Awards and Effie Awards.





Justin Ebert also joins the agency as creative director. He previously spent three years with Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, where he worked on Hulu, Microsoft, Best Buy, Volkswagen and American Express. His awards include One Show pencils, Clios, and the Cannes Titanium Lion for Best Buy's Twelpforce. He was also nominated for an Emmy for outstanding writing in a commercial for his work on Hulu.





Trailer Park Interactive has appointed Amy Gunzenhauser as director of social media, reporting to Michael Faulkner, vp, Interactive Accounts. She joins from FEARnet, where she served as marketing manager/social media strategist, and was previously at Reelzchannel as social media marketing manager, where she helped launch fan promotions for Twilight.





Kolody, the Toronto-based digital agency, has appointed Chad Borlase as creative director. Borlase joins from Bos, where he was co-creative director for over six years overseeing campaigns for brands such as Fido, HomeSense, SmartSet, Honda, Vincor, SportChek and Mac's. Prior to Bos, Borlase was VP, group creative director at MacLaren McCann. He originally emigrated from South Africa to Vancouver, before moving to Toronto to work at Publicis.





Cut + Run, the editing company with with locations in London, Los Angeles, New York and Asia, has added Akiko Iwakawa to its roster of editors. She is known for commercials including Nike Classic, AT&T Up & Up, Reebok Migration, and LG World of Steam as well as music videos for Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Bright Eyes, and Depeche Mode.
