Charnock will be based out of R/GA's New York office in the newly created role. Charnock moves from JWT New York, where he was director of strategic innovation and co-head of strategic planning. At R/GA his duties will be to oversee R/GA's global strategy in the U.S., London and future offices in Brazil and Singapore, and to manage strategy planning and research teams. He will also oversee international development of the strategic services group.

Stefan Schmidt, CCO of TBWA Germany has added the title of Creative at Large, Europe. Schmidt, who will continue to work out of TBWA/Berlin, will work with the agency's global clients across the European region and develop regional new business. He becomes the second of TBWA's Creatives at Large, following John Merrifield, who was named Asia Pacific Creative at Large in 2006.

John Maxham has been named as executive creative director at Cole & Weber United. Maxham was most recently SVP/group creative director at DDB, where he oversaw the integration of creative at the agency's Chicago and St. Louis offices, managing a team of 30 creatives in the general, digital and DM groups. Maxham was also the former CCO of San Francisco's Maiden Lane and worked for three years as a CD at Team One in L.A.

Former Modernista director of engagement Dustin Johnson has joined Mullen as VP for creative media integration. Johnson's charge will be to help the agency fuse creative content with innovative media distribution. While at Modernista, Johnson had build and managed the agency's engagement planning practice and media department, and owrked with clients like Palm and Cadillac.
