Wendy Brovetto and Johanna Marciano have launched Scarlett, a New York-based studio dedicated to creating design and visual effects for beauty and luxury advertising. Brovetto, who will be managing director and executive producer, has worked for New York design and VFX shops and with agencies such as Ogilvy, Y&R, BBDO, McCann Worldgroup, Publicis, Gotham, Euro RSCG and Grey. Marciano, who will be creative director, has worked for design firms and networks such as Imaginary Forces, Spontaneous and MTV Networks. Both are members of The Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences as well as BDA/PROMAX.




RSA and Black Dog Films has signed director Sam Jones. Jones began his career as a photojournalist and has shot campaigns for Canon, Walmart, DirecTV, Secret, Discover, Dove and others. He is also known for the feature documentary about the band Wilco, entitled I Am Trying To Break Your Heart.









Creature has appointed Hemant Anant Jain to the post of associate creative director. He joins Creature's Seattle office working across clients including Microsoft, Starbucks' Seattle's Best Coffee Brand, JanSport and Pacifico Beer. Jain joins from Wieden + Kennedy New Delhi where he was creative director. He has previously worked for W+K London and Amsterdam as well as Leo Burnett's Mumbai and Delhi offices, Rediffusion Y&R in Mumbai, and Ogilvy and Mather, Delhi.




Red Car, the creative editorial company, has appointed Mary Knox to the position of managing director, New York. Knox was previously managing director of commercials for Curious Pictures, the New York-based animation and mixed media production company. Prior to joining Curious in 2005, Knox represented production and post production companies, and has also worked as a journalist and copywriter.
