Ron Smrczek has been appointed executive creative director at Taxi Europe in Amsterdam, moving from his role as ECD at Taxi New York. In his new position, Smrczek will join current ECD Maarten van Huijstee in overseeing the shop's creative and building the agency's European client base. Smrczek first joined Taxi in 2003 at the Toronto office. There, he worked on award-winning campaigns for Nike and Viagra, including the celebrated "Bleep" campaign.
Former Euro RSCG N.Y. CD David Weinstock has been appionted ECD at social marketing agency Mr Youth. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all creative for all clients, including Coca-Cola, Bing and Xbox. While at Euro RSCG, Weinstock helped steer projects for clients like Kraft and Dos Equis, including the latter's award-winning "Most Interesting Man in The World" campaign. Prior to Euro, Weinstock had freelanced in the digital space, for companies like Sagient, MRM and TheKnot.com.
Gary Holme, Trevor Schoenfeld and Elliot Smith have joined the Toronto office of Sapient Nitro as creative directors, to help lead traditional creative and digital strategy for the shop's Canadian clients and beyond, including Target.com, Coca-Cola and Chrysler. Holme is a 25-year agency vet who most recently served at Publicis/Toronto as GCD on clients like Kia, Rogers,Toronto Blue Jays and Walmart. His previous shops also include Y&R Brands, Wolf Advertising, Harrod/MirlinFCB, TBWA/Chiat/Day, and JWT. Most recently, he was group creative director at Publicis Advertising where he created campaigns for many of Publicis/Toronto's major clients, such as KIA, Rogers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Walmart. Schoenfeld has been in the industry for more than 22 year years, at shops like Doremus, Brooklyn7, Ogilvy & Mather and others.
Smith moves from Organic,where he was CD on the Nike Canada digital account. The 15-year vet also worked as a CD at Arnold Worldwide and held creative and design roles at Trapeze Media and ExtendMedia.
Mike Brady joins production company Hello as executive producer and will join EP Carl Swan in overseeing the shop's commercial business. Brady most recently served the same post at Believe Media.
