New York-based creative studio Charlex has added directors Kristian Mercado and Elliot Lim to its roster. Lim (pictured, top left) joins Charlex from Digital Kitchen, where he worked on TV spots, music videos, installations and more for clients such as Reese's, Coach, Rotary Club, Cosmopolitan Hotel and Ghost Robot. Mercado joins from 1stAveMachine, where his work included a spot for Tassimo featuring a dancing brewpot and an HTC campaign.
Victors & Spoils has hired Chad Walker as a creative director. Walker joins Victors & Spoils from Arnold N.Y., where he was a creative director. Previously, Walker was a creative director at mcgarrybowen. He began his career at Ammirati Puris Lintas, and has worked at numerous agencies and brands including Kirschenbaum & Bond, Ogilvy, MTV, and Hakuhodo in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
Design agency Pearlfisher New York has appointed Hamish Campbell as creative director. Campbell, who joins Pearlfisher New York from Lewis Moberly, has worked across branding, packaging, retail and print design, for brands including Nike, Johnnie Walker, Bacardi and Ferrero, winning numerous industry awards.
DAVID-INC, a creative editorial boutique located in San Francisco and Los Angeles, has hired Fred Fouquet as editor. Fouquet has worked on commercials for clients such as Citi, Apple, Mini, Bud Light, Reebok, Levi's, VW, Garnier, IBM, and Microsoft. He has also edited music videos for artists such as Eminem, Dr. Dre, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston and Moby, and worked on film and TV titles including Mission Impossible 2, Ally McBeal and Charmed.
Locksmith Content, the L.A. based content creation and production studio , has signed Bucky Fukumoto to its roster. Previously represented by The Directors Bureau, Fukumoto (pictured, left, when young with Joan Jett) recently directed the viral video 'Duel of the Masters/Kung Fu' for the San Francisco agency Heat which Tiger Woods and Shaquille O'Neal He is also well known for his work with Morrissey after helming six of the British singer's music videos and two feature length concert films.
FotoKem has appointed Joseph Slomka as VP and principal color scientist for its digital post-production and creative picture services. Before joining the FotoKem team, Slomka served for six years as color scientist at Sony Pictures Imageworks. His industry experience includes working closely with the Science and Technology Council of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the development of the Image Interchange Framework (IIF) and the Academy Color Encoding Specifications (ACES). He has also worked with the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Technology Committee.
