The AICP has announced that Rei Inamoto, chief creative officer at AKQA, will serve as its Next Awards Judging Chair, and Master of Ceremonies at the Next Awards presentation the morning of the Show's debut at The Museum of Modern Art on June 12. The Next Awards honor innovative marketing communications across eight categories: Integrated Campaign, Viral/Web Film, Website/Microsite, Product Integration, Experiential, Mobile, Social and Cause Marketing (both new this year).
Johannes Leonardo has hired Carla Ballecer and Karen Gereffi as senior copywriter and senior art director respectively. Both are new roles. The creative duo comes to the agency from R/GA New York. Ballecer has spent the last four years at R/GA New York working on Google, Nike and Walmart,after starting her career as one of 12 candidates selected nationally to join the Interpublic Group Fellowship in New York. Gereffi worked for R/GA New York for three years, having previously studied art direction at The Creative Circus in Atlanta, where she won a Future Lion. Both will work across Johannes Leonardo's full client portfolio, including Google, Bacardi, Coca-Cola and Anheuser-Busch InBev, reporting to agency co-founders Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico.
Trailer Park has appointed Jason Friedlander as senior director, user experience and strategy, mobile. He will be responsible for overseeing creative direction for all mobile products (recent mobile products developed by Trailer Park have included the GRAMMY Live app, and the Stifler App Suite to promote the forthcoming American Reunion). Friedlander's past experience includes working as senior director, digital experience design at Deluxe Digital Studios, as senior director, strategic projects at Ascent Media's Blink Digital (now part of Deluxe), as VP, production at icandy Interactive, and as digital producer at Technicolor Creative Services and B1 Media. He has worked on clients such as Disney, Mattel, Sony Music and Pixar.
