Washington Square Films (WSF) has signed Margin Call director J.C. Chandor for exclusive representation in its commercial division. WSF produced Margin Call, which has won the NY Film Critics Best First Feature, The Independent Spirit Awards' Robert Altman Award for best ensemble cast and has been nominated for Indie Spirits in the 'Best First Feature' and 'Best First Screenplay' categories. Chandor is currently in pre-production for his next feature film, All Is Lost, which WSF will also produce.





B-Reel creative director/partner Oscar Tillman is rejoining the digital production company's New York office after taking a year-long sabbatical to focus on his music projects. The company's New York office has also promoted Patrick Ehrlund from art director to creative director, a year after he moved from the Stockholm office, since when he has led Google campaigns, such as Google+ Tour and Google Maps 'Start Here.' B-Reel NY has also named founding partner Petter Westlund chief creative officer, a new title signifying his significant and ongoing creative and technical contributions to the company.





Jay Lichtman has joined VFX studio MassMarket as managing director. Lichtman was previously executive producer at Method Studios where he ran the New York facility and oversaw campaigns for clients including McGarry Bowen, JWT, BBDO and Leo Burnett. Lichtman joined Method in 2010 from the UK's MPC (Moving Picture Company) and prior to that was EP at Brickyard VFX in Los Angeles. Before working at Brickyard, he headed production at London's Glassworks Ltd.





Cutters has signed two new editors to its Los Angeles studios, Adam Parker (pictured, left) and Jaime Valdueza. Parker joins Cutters from Chrome Editorial. His experience includes work for clients such as Gatorade, DirecTV, Adidas, EASports, MINI and Ikea. Valdueza joins the Cutters roster from Lost Planet and has worked on brands such as Mastercard, MTV, Ford, Toyota, Budweiser, Bud Light and Apple. Parker and Valdueza join EP Nicole Visram, Aki Mizutani and Barnett Kiel, who came to Cutters from Beast in January 2010.








Bemis Balkind has hired Julie Sweetwood to join its TV Group as VP, business development. Previously, Sweetwood was VP, global business development, for Hurrah!, a rep firm for creative companies. Prior to that she worked for the television trade association Promax/BDA, and played a part in the Singapore 3DX Film Festival.
