Editorial house Beast has hired editor Shira Ankori to work at its New York facility. Over the past decade Ankori has edited spots for brands including Taco Bell, Toyota, WalMart, DirectTV, Merrill Lynch, Sony and Chevy. She has worked in both New York and Los Angeles, and also worked as a voiceover actor voicing several commercial campaigns over the last 12 years.
MPC Creative is to represent directing collective Blac Ionica in the US for the first time. Composed of directors, animators and designers operating out of London, the studio is capable of generating motion graphics, live action, animation, CGI, stop frame, sound design, music composition and stop-motion animation. Recent Blac Ionica work includes a split-screen BlackBerry spot and a Red Stripe ad that combined action, stop frame and motion graphics. In collaboration with agencies such as KK Outlet, Razorfish, Ogilvy & Mather, SapientNitro, BMB and BBH, Blac Ionica has produced work for clients such as Foot Locker, KFC, McDonald's, Financial Times and Sony PSP.
The Joneses has added director John Bonito for exclusive representation in commercials. Bonito is known for his work in comedy, sports and action and has directed recent ads for such brands as Zyrtec, Doritos and Pep Boys. His most recent project was a global broadcast and online campaign for Unilever and NBC/Universal launching the former's new product, Clear Shampoo. His work also includes network promos and features.
New York-based creative editorial shop BlueRock has added editor Geordie Anderson back to its roster after a gap of four years. A native of Australia, Anderson moved to the US and joined BlueRock in 2004 before joining Union Editorial to become a partner. There, he has edited spots for agencies such as JWT, Y&R, McCann, Publicis and Saatchi & Saatchi and brands including MTV, Ikea, LG, Ford, Motorola and AT&T.
