Billy Pittard, former president and CEO of defunct broadcast design giant Pittard Sullivan, has resurfaced as president of SupplyMan, Inc., a Los Angeles-based company that is launching an online service called SupplyMan.com. Billed as the "online mall for film and TV production supplies," the site aims to facilitate the procurement of construction and technical supplies for production projects. "I'm excited about SupplyMan because we're able to both create savings for buyers and stimulate sales for established businesses," Pittard pants in the press release announcing his appointment. "Everybody wins. Buyers get great new time-saving tools for managing their purchases -- and it's free to use. SupplyMan is great for stores, because it improves their service to their customers -- and service is what selling to the entertainment business is all about. It's also an amazingly easy and effective way for a traditional store to get their business online."
