RPA has promoted Jason Sperling, previously SVP, group creative director, to the position of SVP, executive creative director, reporting to Joe Baratelli, EVP, chief creative officer. Sperling has been with RPA since 2010, and his work on the Honda brand has included Super Bowl spot "Matthew's Day Off" as well as the "Things Can Always Be Better" Civic campaign and the Honda Accord "It Starts With You" campaign. Digital work for Honda has included the IAB MIXX Awards gold-winning "Pintermission" digital campaign for Best Experimental and Innovative Campaign. He joined RPA from Media Arts Lab where he worked on the worldwide "Get a Mac" Apple campaign.
CP+B has made four new hires in its Boulder creative department. Michael Raso, Alex Lea and Julian Newman join as creative directors, while Hemant Anant Jain joins as associate creative director. Raso (pictured, left) comes to CP+B from Ogilvy Sydney, where he was both head of art and group creative director. He has worked across three continents for brands like Mercedez-Benz, UPS, Singapore Airlines, Bank of America, Burger King and KFC, including for six years as SVP, group creative director on the MasterCard business at McCann NY.
Lea (left) joins CP+B from Saatchi & Saatchi where he has worked as a creative director since 2009. During his 18 year career, Lea has also spent time at Droga5, Publicis, Lowe, Bozell and Wells and Rich & Greene, working with clients including Ford, the Dairy Council on the "Got Milk?" campaign, Vicks, Coca Cola and Heineken. Awards includea Cannes Titanium and Gold Lion, Gold One Show Pencil, Gold Andy, Best of Show IAAA, Gold Effie and New York Festivals Gold World Medal. Newman joins CP+B from Publicis USA, where he was VP, creative director working on Hilton, Hot Pockets, Aflac, Citibank and BoostUp.org. Before Publicis, he spent over 10 years as an art director at Arnold Worldwide, working on Volkswagen of North America, Fidelity Investments, Celebrity Cruise Lines and TAG Body Spray.
Anant Jain (left) joins CP+B after spending his 16-year career as a copywriter and creative director in Delhi, Mumbai, Amsterdam, London and Seattle with agencies like Wieden + Kennedy, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, Creature, and most recently, Albion London. He has created work for brands such as Coca-Cola, Nokia, Hewlett Packard and Nike, including global campaigns that have run successfully in China, India, Brazil and Europe. Jain also makes art, creates children's books, and writes and draws comics for the Indian edition of the Wall Street Journal.
McCann Detroit has promoted Mike Stocker (left), and Robin Chrumka (below), to the positions of executive vice president, co-executive creative directors, overseeing all creative for current agency clients, including ALDI and General Motors Corporation. The duo joined McCann last summer after stints at Leo Burnett and BBDO, take over from Matt Canzano, the longtime McCann Detroit ECD, who has assumed Global ECD responsibilities at Commonwealth (McCann Worldgroup's global Chevrolet business). As a team, their work has been awarded at national and international competitions, including the Cannes International Advertising Film Festival, where they have won multiple Lions for their work on Jeep.
Baldwin &, based in Raleigh, has hired Kellyn McGarity as senior art director, on the agency's Burt's Bees and gud accounts. Titles at Baldwin & are self-assigned and McGarity's will be "Baker". Previously McGarity was an art director at The Richards Group, Dallas, working primarily on RAM Trucks, as well as on Russell Athletic and The Home Depot.
Fabian Geyrhalter (left) has founded Finien, a consultancy specializing in naming, identity and digital design for brand launches, based in Los Angeles. Derived from the Latin word for "Compass" Finien has evolved from branding and graphic design agency Geyrhalter & Company, which Geyrhalter founded in 2001.
