BBDO North America vice chairman and chief creative officer Ted Sann -- whose career at BBDO spans three decades -- has left the agency. He will be replaced by David Lubars, president of Fallon Worldwide and executive creative director of Fallon North America, the agency announced on Thursday. For Lubars, the move marks a return to BBDO, where he headed BBDO West before leaving for Fallon in 1998. ... Graham Woodall, formerly executive creative director at D'Arcy/New York, has been named EVP-executive creative director at J. Walter Thompson/Chicago. ... Jim Schmidt -- a freelancer whose resume includes stints at Euro RSCG/Chicago and as a partner at McConnaughy Stein Schmidt & Brown -- has been named top creative at Downtown Partners/Chicago, the DDB-affiliated agency launched in April under former DDB/Chicago president Ray Gillette. Schmidt's appointment coincides with the news that Downtown Partners has been named agency of record for Walgreens.
