"Epic Split" was the video stunt for Volvo Trucks that both resurrected the career of Jean-Claude van Damme and succeeded in making truck advertising sexy. Yet it wasn't just a one-off success story. The film, won both Cyber and Film Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions festival -- and went on to become the most awarded campaign of the year, is one of a series of "live tests" that this creative team at Swedish agency Forsman & Bodenfors has dreamed up for the Volvo Trucks brand over the past three years. Others variously featured driving hamsters, a baffled casino valet and a truck racing a "supercar." All show off the trucks' capabilities in ways that captivate the viewer.
The creative team, which describes itself as "very Swedish," spans ages and disciplines: Mr. Engström arrived at Forsman in 1988, while Ms. Lindholm, whose resume includes a stint at production company B-Reel, joined in 2006.
