The American Advertising Federation (AAF) today announced this year's ADDY Awards winners, along with the contenders for the Broadcast and Print Best of Show awards, which will be announced at the ADDY Awards dinner later this month. The jury, headed by Leo Burnett deputy chief creative officer Mark Tutssel, awarded a total of 105 Gold ADDY Awards and 148 Silver ADDY Awards for domestic and international work this year. New York agency DeVito/Verdi led the trophy count with 11 awards, followed by GSD&M -- with 11 awards but fewer Golds -- and Leo Burnett, with eight ADDYs in all.

In Broadcast, the Best of Show contenders are the FedEx commercial "Drama" from BBDO/New York; Cliff Freeman's "Role Reversal" spot for Value City; Leo Burnett's Nintendo commercial "School's Out"; Modernista's "Big Race" vignette for Hummer; and "The Joke," a Heineken commercial from Publicis. In Print, the finalists are Nebraska agency Bailey Lauerman for work for Union Pacific; FCB/Seattle for an ad for Tacoma Guitars; Leo Burnett for work for the U.S. Army; Square One for a campaign for Urban Home; and Y&R for work for Mattel.

The Best of Show winners will be announced June 12 as part of the AAF National Conference in Dallas. A complete list of ADDY winners can be found on the AAF's website.
