Agency veterans Scott Storrs and June Ross announced this week the launch of a new creative boutique, appropriately named Storrs Ross Creative
. The pair, who are married, have been freelancing as a team for the last year, mostly for agencies, including Hill, Holliday and Modem Media. "We've both been freelancing for the last year, and it just made sense to make it official," Storrs says. "A lot of our clients said, Why don't you start your own place." Storrs was a partner-CD at OgilvyOne and Ross was a creative director at DDB/New York before downsizing sent both into the freelance world. Storrs explains that Storrs Ross will continue doing project work for agencies, but he hopes to serve smaller clients that can't afford the services of larger agencies.
"What we're looking for are the clients who aren't quite ready to take the step to the big agency budget," he says. "In our work for agencies over the years, we've seen that the threshold for agencies is pretty high, so we're going after that market."
