The Association of Independent Commercial Editors handed out its annual awards for editing excellence last night in Los Angeles, closing with a rare tie in the National Campaign category. The stalemate occured between Paul Martinez of Lost Planet Editorial for the Altoids "People of Pain" campaign and Jay Herda of Mad River Post for last year's CareerBuilder.com campaign starring an office full of chimps (keep an eye out for Creativity's June issue, in which Herda talks about the process). Martinez also tied with Chris Franklin of Blue Sky Editorial for the most awards taken home—both editors received three golden trophies. For the full winners' list, visit aice.org.
