At One Show Interactive last week, AKQA took home best in show for Fiat Eco Drive (above), a system that uses a computer application and an in-car USB port to mine driving data and calculate driving efficiency to recommend ways a driver can reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions. Drivers download and install the Eco Drive Adobe AIR application on their computers, sync any USB stick with the app, and then plug that USB drive into their Fiat's Blue & Me port, technology the automaker developed in collaboration with Microsoft. When the USB is plugged back into the computer, the app uploads the data, calculates the driver's efficiency index from acceleration, deceleration, gear shifting and speed information and then recommends ways the driver can modify habits to use less fuel.

Also at the show, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners was named agency of the year with seven total awards, including five gold for Doritos Hotel 626 (above), Nintendo Wario Land Shake It, GotMilk.com and the Sprint Now widget. R/GA also picked up seven awards overall, winning gold for Nike Basketball Ballers Network and Nike Football Head2Head. Crispin Porter + Bogusky was next up in the agency count, including gold for Whopper Sacrifice and Domino's TiVo.
