American Airlines Hearts New York(ers)

Published on .

In a taxi cab confession, actor James Gandolfini uses the pickiness of a New Yorker to sell air travel to Brits in American Airlines' latest campaign from McCann Erickson/London. Directed by Serious Pictures' Ivan Bird, the spot shows Gandolfini (known to many for his role as Tony Soprano) talking to his driver in defense of New Yorkers' reputation for being demanding. With the tag, "If we can keep them happy..." American looks to position itself as the one place where fussy travelers can be happy. (MS)
