In a spot for Ariston's Aqualtis from Leo Burnett/Milan that was four months in the making, a washing machine becomes host to an entire world of marine animals—creatures that bear a striking resemblance to items seen on dry land every day. Though the washing machine's roominess is on show here, the real stars of the spot are clothes that look and move like underwater creatures, shot by director Dario Piana of Filmmaster almost entirely in-camera through the use of thin wires operated by scuba divers. The wires were removed by effects artists at Paris-based BUF, who also added a couple of CG friends for the living laundry. The spot is currently airing across Europe.
