Barney Robinson, BBH N.Y. managing director, will be joining Gerry Graf's creative shop Barton F. Graf as its new president--as announced in what could be the most interesting new hire release of the year, via Barbershop tag.
Mr. Robinson said that after 12 years at BBH, it was time for a change. "I've always loved Gerry's work--loved it and envied it in equal measure, really--so the chance to work with the man is great…he's just a great creative talent, and Eric is as well, and that's why I'm doing it."
"I've spent a bit of time with Gerry now and he's always bubbling with ideas….anything is a source of inspiration. There will always be an orientation [at BFG 9000] to do better creative work. Everyone says they're about great creative, but not every agency really is."
At BBH, Robinson also previously served as head of account management and has worked at both the BBH New York and London offices. Prior to that, he had joined Ogilvy & Mather as a graduate trainee in 1995. Robinson also holds and Executive MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.
