Bay Shoots Chevy's "Revolution"

Published on .

This extended anthem introduces the new Chevy models.
While Chevrolet and other carmakers officially unveiled their new model lines last week at the Detroit Auto Show, Chevy began teasing consumers with its new "American Revolution" positioning on New Year's Eve with a commercial shot by Pearl Harbor director Michael Bay. The spot, from Detroit agency Campbell-Ewald, features the first look at several new models, including the funky SSR pickup and the 2005 Corvette, a picture of which was leaked on the internet after an enthusiast snapped a photo of the top secret car in San Francisco as the commercial was being filmed.

Set to a version of Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride" created by JSM Music, the commercial shows -- in both 60-second and two-minute versions -- the new Chevy models taking their places on a moving car carrier as it cruises from coast-to-coast.
