BMW Films Dumps Anonymous, Taps RSA

Published on .

BMW Films: Anonymous no more.
According to several industry sources, upcoming episodes of BMW Films' online series "The Hire" will not be produced by Anonymous Content -- the company that created the pioneering project with Fallon Worldwide -- but by RSA, the production outfit headed by Tony and Ridley Scott. Production is due to begin in August with Tony Scott committed to directing one of three new installments, with directors for the other two still undecided. The news comes just a month after BMW of North America announced it would commission new episodes of the award-winning campaign. At that time, Anonymous was still slated to handle the project with features director David Fincher serving as executive producer.

"The Hire" won many accolades this year, including two Best of Show awards at the One Show and a Cyber Grand Prix at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes.

Neither Fallon nor RSA would comment on the collaboration. Executives at BMW and Anonymous Content did not return phone calls.
