Brokaw Engineers Laughs for Parker Hannfin

An engineer gets an idea.
As "the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies," Cleveland-based Parker Hannifin certainly doesn't sound like a dream creative assignment. But in a new corporate campaign from Cleveland agency Brokaw, we at least get to see that the folks at Parker have a sense of humor. Three spots that are set to break next week illustrate how "Engineers See the World Differently," as everyday events lead them to inspiration. In one, an engineer gets an idea for a cooling system from a child rearing mishap -- when something literally hits the fan -- while in another a techie is too busy contemplating chopsticks as a paradigm to notice the gorgeous woman who's using them. In a third, an exploding hippity-hop sparks an idea for a new kind of rollercoaster, an idea that distracts its inventor from pulling his daughter out of a hedge. The take away is that Parker is all for this kind of absent-mindedness, since -- according to the effort's tag -- "At Parker we help engineers turn inspiration to innovation."

Directed by Backyard Productions' Kevin Smith, this is -- hands down -- the funniest campaign you'll ever see for a leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies.
