Burnett CCO Conrad to Retire

Published on .

Michael Conrad
Michael Conrad, chief creative officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide, has announced he will retire at the end of the year, leaving the position he has held since 1997. Conrad, 58, detailed his plan to staffers yesterday at a worldwide network meeting in Chicago. He will be succeeded by Miguel Angel Furones, who became Burnett's deputy CCO in June 2001.

Conrad's is the second high profile retirement announcement to hit the industry in the past week, following the news that Rick Boyko, 54, will step down as chief creative officer of Ogilvy & Mather/North America sometime next year.
