Published on .

In an encouraging sign for the health of the industry, entries in the International Advertising Festival are up for the first time in three years, according to festival officials. After 5 and 10 percent declines in 2003 and 2002, respectively, organizers are reporting an 11.5 percent increase in entries for the 2004 awards, which will be held June 20-26 in Cannes.

The Cyber Lions competition led the way with a 24.6 percent increase over last year, followed by 14.2 percent increases in both press and outdoor entries, a 10.4 percent jump in media, a 7.5 percent gain in direct marketing and a 4 percent increase in film entries.
