Canon 'Inspired' Wins Creative Arts Emmy

By Published on . 0

Canon's Inspired was named the best primetime commercial Emmy last night during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

The Grey New York spot, directed by MJZ's Nicolai Fuglsig, aired in November and pays homage to the will-do-anything attitude of real photographers. Set to a cover of "Beautiful Dreamer" by Rachel Fannan of Only You, it features a series of shots that see photographers going to great lengths to get the perfect shot, from breaking a dish because it was in your way, to rolling down a steep hill alongside a burning tire.

"Inspired" beat off competition from contenders including Grey Poupon's "The Chase", Google Chrome's "Jess Time" and Nike's "Jogger".

Other industry winners included Passion Pictures, which was named in the Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Special award for HBO's "Manhunt: The Inside Story Of The Hunt For Bin Laden". Sloane Klevin of Union Editorial won the award for Outstanding Picture Editing For Nonfiction Programming for HBO documentary Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence In The House Of God.

HBO was the big winner of the night, swiping eight Emmys with the Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra.
