The Magazine Publishers of America announced the 25 finalists for the 2003 Kelly Awards this week during the New York Magazine Day event. Leading the way, with three finalists each, are Minneapolis agency Carmichael Lynch and Miami's Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Carmichael Lynch won the Grand Kelly for Harley-Davidson work last year and returns to the final round again with two efforts for Harley-Davidson and one for Porsche. CP+B makes the list of finalists with ads for Bell, Giro and Mini. Other agencies with multiple finalists include Leo Burnett USA, which makes the list with work for Altoids and Polaroid, and Mullen, which is in the running with campaigns for the American Heritage Dictionary and Eddie Bauer. Other nominees include Campbell-Ewald for Chevrolet; DDB/Dallas for McIlhenney Tabasco; Fallon/New York for Timberland; Lowe/New York for Johnson & Johnson; Martin/Williams for L.L. Bean; Providence, R.I., agency nail for Atomic Ski; Peterson Milla Hooks for Target; Vitrorobertson, San Diego, for Taylor Guitars; Wieden + Kennedy/Portland for Nike, and Y&R/Chicago for NASCAR. The $100,000 Grand Prize Kelly Award will be presented at the Association of National Advertisers' Print Forum on June 19 in New York.
