Nextel helps get things done.
Earlier this month, TBWA/Chiat/Day/New York began its first push for Nextel since winning the account in May. The teasing began with bright yellow outdoor and wild postings featuring the telecom's new productivity-pushing tagline: "Nextel. Done." The agency started breaking its first television for the client last weekend, and Nextel is expected to have a large presence during Sunday's Emmy Awards. The first round of spots, like the new tagline, focuses on getting things, well, done.

In four spots directed by Joe Pytka we see face-to-face meetings -- like a wedding, a business meeting and a job negotiation -- that all go much faster thanks to Nextel's walkie-talkie phones. In perhaps the funniest spot, the gadgets help squeeze a rapid-fire production of Romeo & Juliet into less than 30-seconds. Print executions likewise push speed and action with lines like "800-Nextel9. How Workaholics Get Their Fix" and "Nobody Procrastinates Their Way to the Top."
