Chris Mitton heads to Wieden + Kennedy

Published on .

Chris Mitton, ECD at Ogilvy New York, will join Wieden + Kennedy Portland as creative director in February.

Mitton is a veteran of Ogilvy and one of the leaders of the agency's American Express business. Most recently, Mitton was paired with David Carson, co-founder of Heavy.com, who joined the agency as ECD in December to work with Mitton on Amex, Ikea and other accounts.

Mitton had done some of Ogilvy's highest profile work for Amex, including spots featuring Wes Anderson, Tina Fey and Ellen Degeneres. Recently, the group created the Members Project campaign featuring Yvon Chouinard and Geoffrey Canada and a Conan O'Brien spot.

At W+K, Mitton will join the creative team on Target.
