Cliff Freeman Takes NASCAR for a Spin

Published on .

These guys are tough.
A few years ago, an award-winning Fox Sports campaign from Cliff Freeman and Partners -- directed by Ringan Ledwidge -- focused on the lengths to which NASCAR fans would go to experience the rush of the race, including standing in the way of tornadoes and mudslides. The agency's campaign for the 2004 season, however, focuses on just how cool the drivers are.

In three new spots directed by HSI's Joseph Kahn -- director of Torque and countless music videos -- NASCAR drivers talk casually about how dangerous other sports like baseball, football and basketball are. The twist is that they're talking as their cars spin hopelessly out of control. As the tag says, "These guys are tough."
