Commercial Emmy Nominees Announced

Martin and Charlie team up for Visa.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the 2003 Emmy nominees Thursday morning in Hollywood, including the contenders in the category of Outstanding Commercial. The five nominated commercials are as follows:

Visa "Sheens," a commercial from BBDO/New York and Hungry Man director Allen Coulter featuring father and son celebs Martin and Charlie Sheen; Pepsi Twist "Osbournes," another star-studded collaboration between BBDO/New York and Hungry Man, this time with Bryan Buckley behind the camera; Nike "Angry Chicken," the Gold Lion winner from Wieden + Kennedy and Traktor; Volkswagen "Squares" from Arnold Worldwide and Anonymous Content director Malcolm Venville; and PBS "Fish," the story of a goldfish who finds freedom, from Fallon/Minneapolis and Y Tu Mamá También director Alfonso Cuaron via Independent Media.

The winner will be announced September 13 in Los Angeles. Last year's Emmy went to Wieden + Kennedy for the Nike spot "Move."
