The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced this year's Emmy nominations yesterday in Los Angeles, including the nominees in the category of Outstanding Commercial. This year's contenders include Anheuser-Busch's salute to American troops, "Applause," from DDB/Chicago and director Joe Pytka; the Aquafina spot "Drink Up" from BBDO/N.Y. and Traktor; Starbucks' "Glen" commercial from Fallon/N.Y. and director Noam Murro; "The One Campaign" from @radical.media director Marcus Tomlinson; and the Ameriquest Super Bowl commercial "Surprise Dinner" from DDB/L.A. and MJZ's Craig Gillespie.
The winner will be announced Sept. 11 at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium.
