Former Ground Zero partner/ECD Curt Detweilerhas been named EVP/ECD at McCann Erickson North America, agency president Robert LePlae announced today. Detweiler's new position will begin in November 2009, and he will be based in McCann's San Francisco office. The EVP/ECD will be responsible for overseeing the creative output of all McCann offices in North America outside of New York, including San Francisco, Detroit, Los Angeles and Canada.
Prior to working at Ground Zero, Detweiler ran the Nissan business at TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles and worked with LePlae in the agency's New York office on the Mars account. Detweiler's past ents include adidas, ESPN, Cadillac, Gatorade, Haagen-Dazs, Kellogg's, Reebok, McDonald's.
As part of his new role, Detweiler also joins the network's 13-person Global Creative Collective, which represents all countries and disciplines in McCann Worldgroup.
