DDB/L.A. and MJZ's Craig Gillespie take home commercials Emmy

Ameriquest "Surprise Dinner"
Ameriquest’s “Surprise Dinner,” created out of DDB/L.A. and directed by Craig Gillespie of MJZ, took home the commercials Emmy at the Academy of Television Arts & Science’s 57th annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony on September 11 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The humorous spot, which hinges on the tag “Don’t Judge Too Quickly,” shows a girlfriend walking in on her boyfriend after he appears to have slaughtered her fluffy white kitty. It beat out contenders Budweiser “Applause,” directed by Joe Pytka out of DDB/Chicago, BBDO/N.Y.’s “Drink Up” for Aquafina, directed by Traktor, the Noam Murro crowdpleaser “Glen” for Starbucks out of Fallon/N.Y. and “The One Campaign” for Bono’s One.org, conceived and produced out of @radical.media and directed by Marcus Tomlinson.
