Park Pictures' Joaquin Baca-Asay, Anonymous Content's Garth Davis, and Gorgeous Enterprise's Chris Palmer are all first time nominees for Outstanding Achievement as the Directors Guild of America announces TV category nominations for its 62nd annual awards. MJZs Tom Kuntz and Craig Gillespie received their third and fourth nominations, respectively.
Baca-Asay's nominated body of work includes CSX "Breathe," from Mullen, Volvo "Switch," from Arnold, Bank of America "Doors," from BBDO New York and "See What You Love," for Lenscrafters out of Cutwater.
Davis was nominated for a single spot, U.S. Cellular's "Shadow Puppets," from Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco; Gillespie's was cited for Cars.com's "David Abernathy," from DDB Chicago, Guinness "Slide," from BBDO New York and Orbit's "Dusty," from Energy BBDO.
Kuntz scored with Cadbury "Eyebrows," from Fallon London, Skittles "Tailor," from TBWA/Chiat Day New York, and Old Spice "Scents for Gents" and Career Builder "Tips," from Wieden + Kennedy, Portland and Palmer was nominated for Budweiser "Lyric," from DDB, London, and J20 "Riviera Truckstop" and "A Horse called Cynthia"out of BBH London.
