The spot, which debuted yesterday during the Bowl Championship Series, was directed by Joe Pytka in September at Chicago's United Center, where -- according to Ryan -- the arena's staff got a kick out of seeing Michael back in a Bulls' uniform. After that it was turned over to effects house Digital Domain, which spent five months making the showdown appear convincing. "It was an idea a little ahead of execution," Ryan says. "You can get to a PlayStation version of Jordan pretty quickly, but to get to where you actually believe it takes quite a bit longer." The spot -- Jordan's 21st for Gatorade since the "Be Like Mike" campaign debuted in 1991 -- will air throughout the BCS and again during the Super Bowl.
