Naked Communications strategist Faris Yakob has resigned his position with the shop for a job at McCann Erickson, New York as EVP, chief technology strategist.

"[I'm looking forward to] working with passionate people, and the world's largest advertising agency, to explore the future of brand communication," says Yakob. "Doing things that make people happy. Getting everyone here twittering. And generally making awesome things that are useful or entertaining or both."

Yakob resigned from his role as Senior Strategist & Digital Ninja at Naked last Friday and will begin at McCann next week, reporting directly to agency president Lori Senecal. He is the latest in a series of digital talents joining the agency, with AKQA alums Alessandra Lariu and Qian Qian coming on in September as group creative director and graphic artist/ACD, respectively.

"Faris joins the agency leadership team and will contribute to shaping and evolving our business model," says Senecal. [He] will take the leadership role in working closely with our clients, planners and creative teams to inspire innovative business and brand ideas that fully leverage the digital landscape to drive measurably deeper consumer engagement."

Yakob maintains a blog called Talent Imitates, Genius Steals. Yakob joins Devika Bulchandani and John Kottman, both EVPs and chief strategy officers, at the agency.
