In the latest round of spots from VW and Crispin Porter + Bogusky—the first, you'll recall, for the GTI, featured a character called the "Fast" and a German engineer fond of "un-pimping the auto" in a sharp departure from previous VW brand work—the emphasis is on the safety ratings of the Jetta. Directed by Epoch's Phil Morrison, the spots show young Jetta-driving adults in realistic conversations that are jarringly interrupted by a collision with another vehicle. In the following exterior shots, one passenger says, "Holy..." and the car appears in the obligatory product shot, banged up, under the title, "Safe happens."
