Google Street View—Ad Refresher?
Thanks to a new patent, Google's Street View may soon feature real-time ads. According to The Telegraph, the patent—"Claiming Real Estate in Panoramic or 3D Mapping Environments for Advertising" allows StreetView to recognize billboard and other ad spaces, which the company could potentially offer up to potential advertisers to update with newer ads. But that obviously opens up a lot of tricky issues--like can Starbucks plaster its logo all over Dunkin' Donuts signs?
