Food Chain Teams with Go Film, Retains Jenkins

Published on .

Director Andrews Jenkins, who was slated to join @radical.media as part of the production company's acquisition of Stiefel + Company -- according to a joint announcement by Frank Stiefel and @radical's Frank Scherma in September -- won't be going along after all. Rather, Jenkins has opted to stay aligned with Portland-based Food Chain Films, the production company where he got his start and via which he was repped nationally by Stiefel. The news comes as Food Chain announces that it has entered into a partnership with bicoastal Go Film that will expand the smaller company's national reach. "Having the deal with Go Film allows us to have the kinds of reps that are good and the kind of capitalization to do it right," says Food Chain executive producer David Cress. "And that made Andrews feel comfortable staying with us."

Go Film co-owners Jonathan Weinstein and Robert Wherry gain an interest in Food Chain as part of the bargain, but Weinstein notes that the companies will continue to operate as distinct brands. "We're going to give them a much greater presence on a national level," he says.
