Fox Casts NASCAR Stars as Action Heroes

Published on .

Fox Sports "Cyborgs"
In this year's campaign for Fox Sports' coverage of NASCAR, Cliff Freeman and Partners once again teams with HSI music video hotshot Joseph Kahn, this time to turn three NASCAR drivers into big screen action heroes. While last year's campaign featured footage of drivers casually chatting as their cars spun out of control, this year's effort casts Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. as leading men. In spots packed with cineplex effects from L.A.'s X1 FX, they each face long odds in bouts with cyborgs, pirates and knights, respectively. The confrontations, in turn, serve as a metaphor for the driver-against-the-field drama of auto racing. "1 vs. 42," the tagline reads. "Welcome to NASCAR Nation."
