Gant Named ECD at BBDO/Detroit

BBDO announced this morning that Phil Gant, longtime executive creative director and CCO at BBDO/Chicago, has been named executive vice president and ECD at BBDO/Detroit. Along with vice chairman-CCO Bill Morden, Gant will oversee creative for the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands.

Gant, 53, joined BBDO/Chicago as creative director in 1983, and has overseen creative for Bayer Corporation, Allied Domecq and the Wm. Wrigley, Jr. Company. Wrigley, as we noted last year, has undergone a creative rebirth under Gant. (Creativity March 2002.) Gant starts work in the Detroit office on Monday. Meanwhile, former Merkley Newman Harty ECD Marty Orzio, 46, has been tapped to replace Gant in Chicago.
