Breaking this weekend, Miller and Y&R/Chicago introduce a group of would-be spokesanimals in a campaign directed by Spike Jonze of MJZ appearing online at millerauditions.com (the site should go live by Monday morning). Shown auditioning for the role of the latest talking beer mascot, the animals—which include a turtle, otter, goose, raccoon, penguin and bear (our June issue's cover model)—offer candid actors' confessions, which mock the practice of using talking animals at all. "Obviously Miller is challenging Bud on many levels," says CCO Mark Figliulo. "We thought that they use animals in a really obvious way. We looked at Creature Comforts, and started talking to Spike, and he really got into the mindset of treating the animals like actors."
