Sure, Apple still sells the iPad 2 (just like it sells iPhone 3Gs', iPod Shuffles and Classics), but you would hardly call last year's iPad a halo product, especially with the new iPad in stores. But you wouldn't know it from Apple's billboard advertising, which still features the old iPad. We snapped this photo of the massive billboard atop Apple's retail store in New York City's Meatpacking District.
Just like every Apple marketing move was scrutinized for Steve Jobs' fingerprints, every move now is scrutinized for lack thereof. Would Mr. Jobs, famous for getting involved deep in the details of Apple's marketing, be OK with last year's iPad atop a flagship Manhattan store?
