This morning, Bob Frisk -- an editor at San Francisco's Phoenix Editorial -- received an unexpected visit from Black Rocket CD and recent DGA award winner Bob Kerstetter, who presented him with a small velvet bag. Inside, the editor found a shard of metal shaped like a slice of pie. Frisk estimates that it must be about 1/16th of Kerstetter's DGA Award, which he won for a campaign for Musco olives that Frisk edited. "I thought that was so thoughtful, to go out of his way to do that," Frisk says. "I was flattered."

Kerstetter is apparently not only sharing credit for his DGA honor -- which he won in the face of competition from the likes of Joe Pytka and Joe Public -- but sharing the award itself, after having it professionally hacked up like a large, two-topping pizza. "It's such a recognition that filmmaking is a collaborative effort," Frisk says. Kerstetter could not be reached for comment.
