L.A. Production Cools in May

Published on .

Los Angeles' commercials production days dipped slightly in May, according to numbers released today by the Entertainment Industry Development Corporation (EIDC). The EIDC recorded 448 shooting days for commercials last month, the lowest monthly tally so far this year and a 16 percent drop compared to April. However, the tally represents a gain of almost 60 percent compared to last May, when L.A. racked up a mere 284 commercials production days. The EIDC's monthly tally has now posted year-to-year gains in seven of the last eight months, and the year-to-date total is running ahead of last year's pace by 19.4 percent.
