Global marketing and technology agency LBi today announced the launch of its U.S. flagship office in New York. The U.S. headquarters combines the talents of Special Ops Media, which the agency acquired in 2008 and the LBI-owned IconNicholson. It will provide a full a range of services including social media, emerging forms of digital marketing, rich interactive and user experience design.
Based in Soho, LBi's New York office will be home to 160 staff. Cedric Devitt (pictured), who had been ECD at IconNicholson, will serve as LBi ECD. Previously, Devitt had spent nearly a decade at Tribal DDB and also worked at Berlin Cameron Doyle and Grey. He also happens to be a co-founder of the U.S. Air Guitar Championships and producer on the acclaimed feature doc Air Guitar Nation!, about the rise of competitive air guitar in the States.
Christian Anthony, who co-founded Special Ops Media, will oversee U.S. operations as CEO. IconNicholson's former U.S. managing director and eight-year LBi U.K. vet Judith Carr and Special Ops Media co-founder Jason Klein will be co-presidents, with Carr overseeing strategy, planning and client services while Klein will lead media, social media and ePR. Frank Pedersen will be COO overseeing technology and delivery and Scott Heydt will be CFO. Globally, LBi's network spans 15 countries around the world, with more than 1,800 staff.
